Fittings
Volunteers will measure your student and fit according to our inventory. Be advised we allow for
a little space in concert wear so your student can sit comfortably.
Pep Uniforms: The sleeves and the cuffs are adjustable with snaps. Have your student try on
the pants inside out, adjust the snap, remove the pants and iron the hem crease. Please remind
your student to put on their pants before their shoes so they avoid ripping out the snaps. Avoid
pressing with high heat and DO NOT press over the snap area as high heat will melt the snap
imprint onto the outside of the garment. The sleeve length is also adjustable however it will be
covered by the gauntlet and gloves.
Concert wear: The concert dresses and tux pants come un-hemmed. It is the students
responsibility to have them hemmed before the first concert. Remember to have your student
wear their dress shoes when measuring to attain the correct length.
Undergarments
Wear a t-shirt, underwear or garments made of absorbent fabric under Pep uniforms. No
perfume, deodorant or hair spray should be sprayed on or next to the garments. The residue
from these items will cause a build up on the fabric. Appropriate undergarments must be worn
under concert wear.
Be cautious when removing gauntlets so the hard side of the Velcro does not snag on any part
of the uniform. DO NOT stand against a brick wall or other areas that might cause the fabric to
snag.
Uniform Care
Concert Dresses,Tux Shirts and Tux Pants are machine washable cold, tumble dry low or hang to dry.
Tux Vest and Tux Jacket are dry cleaned only.
Although Pep uniforms are machine washable please do not wash. We want to maintain
continuity of care and the Boosters will wash them at the end of the school year.
DO NOT place wet or damp garments in a plastic bag or sealed in the garment bag. Proper
hanging and air drying of garments after each time they are worn is imperative. If needed it is
your responsibility to have concert wear washed or dry cleaned during the year. Boosters will
wash items at the end of the school year.
If stained please BLOT, DO NOT RUB with water and a clean cloth.
FAQ
Do I get to chose if I want a tux or a dress?
Yes. Chose what best suits your comfort level.
When and where do I pick up my uniform?
The uniform volunteers need a couple days to assign you a uniform based on your measurements. Pep/Marching uniform will be ready by first football game. Concert attire is available after you’ve paid Fair Share or made arrangements and has arrived from the clothing company. You will pick up your uniform backstage. You will find your Pep/Marching uniform in a blue garment bag organized by music period and then alphabetically by your last name on the blue tape of the hanger. Inside your garment bag you will find bib/pants, jacket, 2 gauntlets. Concert wear will be bagged in clear plastic on a hanger and labeled with name and period. It will be hung by music period and then alphabetically by last name. Shoes will be at front of band room when they arrive.
What if I haven’t paid Fair Share yet?
Talk to Treasurer before first concert to make arrangements. If you haven’t done that by first concert you may check out concert attire to perform for that concert but must return it at the end of the concert.
Arrive 30 min prior to start of concert and see uniform volunteer to check out concert attire.
During the year I grew/lost weight. What do I do?
Let the uniform coordinator know. They will try to fit you in current inventory. If they can not they may charge you for ordering.
What if I lose my button cover?
The button cover is the most lost item for concert attire. Keep it in your jacket pocket when not using. Replacement covers are available for $4 from uniform coordinator. There is a limited supply kept at MV.
How do I know which uniform is mine if I put it down?
Keep the blue tape on the hanger and keep your uniform in garment bag when not worn. There are bar codes on each item. These are entered into Charms. You must return items assigned to you or you will receive a fine.
Do I have to carry my uniform around all day?
No, there will be racks backstage on game days for pep attire and concert days. You can hang your uniform in it’s garment bag or on it's hanger with name on tape there until changing time. You must take uniform home at the end of the day. MV does not have storage capability for you to keep your uniform at school.
Are there pockets?
Yes, in the front section of the Pep/Marching bib/pants you will find small pockets big enough to hold keys, phone, money etc. Also there are pockets in the tux pants, tux jacket and tux vest.
