About the Concert Bands

Concert Bands are the central focus of the band program at Mountain View High School. They meet during the school day and perform at concerts and festivals around the region.

Wind Ensemble - 3rd Period

This is an auditioned performing ensemble in the Mountain View concert band program. At over 60 members strong it is made up of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Students enrolled in the Wind Symphony perform challenging literature that represents the cutting edge in the compositional world as well as valuable core compositions in the band repertoire. The Wind Symphony performs at four home concerts as well as numerous regional performances throughout the year. All students enrolled in the Wind Ensemble perform with the pep band at all home football games and have the opportunity to perform at basketball games. Standard Concert Dress is required for all students in this band.

Symphonic Band- 1st Period

This ensemble is for developing wind players at Mountain View grades 10-12. Students enrolled in the Symphonic Band perform innovative new literature as well as valuable core compositions in the band repertoire. The Symphonic Band performs at four home concerts throughout the year.  All students enrolled in Symphonic Band perform with the pep band at all home football games and have the opportunity to perform at basketball games. Standard Concert Dress is required for all students in this band.

This ensemble is for 9th grade wind players at Mountain View. Students enrolled in the Concert Band perform innovative new literature as well as valuable core compositions in the band repertoire. the Concert Band performs at four home concerts throughout the year. All students enrolled in Concert Band perform with the pep band at all home football games and have the opportunity to perform at basketball games. Standard Concert Dress is required for all students in this band.
